SAPOA questionnaire on COJ’S Inclusionary Housing Policy

Posted on July 11 2019 by Gert Minnaar in Surveys

The South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) noted the approval of the City of Johannesburg’s Inclusionary Housing Policy by Council on 21 February 2019. After the mandatory implementation of the policy on 23 May 2019, in new residential developments comprised of 20 dwelling units or more, a minimum of 30% of the total units must be for inclusionary housing.

SAPOA has appointed Urban-Econ Development Economists to undertake research of the potential effect of the policy on the residential property sector. SAPOA invites affected and involved stakeholders to provide input on this policy. This input is garnered through the completion of an online questionnaire, which incorporates relevant research themes in inclusionary housing, including policy effect/feasibility; implementation; incentives; and proposed approach. Your participation is appreciated.

Accordingly, please click here to gain access to the questionnaire, as well as the attached policy document of the City of Johannesburg.
