City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality: Closure of Development Planning service desks.

Dear stakeholder,

Please note that due to the current protest action, the Department has decided to close its service desks at the Metro Centre, Thuso House and across all Regional offices.

Clients are encouraged to use the digital platforms that were made available in compliance with the Covid-19 National Lockdown Regulations.

Development Planning Directorates can be reached using the following methods:

PLANNING LAW ENFORCEMENT

Built environment complaints (including illegal building, illegal land use, zoning, additions, alterations, building developments, building signage and outdoor advertising) can be reported to ComplaintsPLE@joburg.org.za.

BUILDING DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT

Building plan submissions can be made via email to BuildingApplications@joburg.org.za.

LAND USE DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT

Once the applications are scrutinised, an invoice will be issued to applicants, with details for an EFT payment. Applications are only registered once proof of payment is received. For LUM enquiries, contact Marietjie Reinecke MarietjieR@joburg.org.za or 082 417 5705. For Legal Admin, contact Thabo Underman on ThaboU@joburg.org.za or 065 887 8524.

Additional supporting documents for Land Use Applications and Legal Administration will also be done via the above emails. Members of the public/applicants should refer to the City’s website for further details and requirements on the submission process of applications electronically.
